PARENT WORKSHOPS
if you work with children, you work with parents.
Obvious right? But maybe you are struggling to engage and support parents in a meaningful way?
I can help your organisation do this with my parent sensory workshops.
I get it!
Parenting is amazing, fun and usually loud and messy too!
But parenting can also be hard! It can be challenging, isolating and scary!
- When you first become a parent
- When you have more children than arms to hold them!
- When you have a newborn and toddler, and school run, and work, and home to keep
- When you are doing it solo
- When family, friends, our community even social media all have an opinion!
It is very easy to feel overwhelmed, that we don't know what to do or how to do it.
My parenting workshops have the perfect blend of information about child development (because knowledge is power) and simple ways to support little one to thrive at home.
We look at how you can use the layout and things in your home, plus your awesome self to stimulate and engage your child – all while sticking the dinner on or walking the dog.
I help parents understand how they are ROCKING this parenting stuff – they just don’t know it yet!
This is not about buying new toys, or setting up Pinterest perfect activities this is about empowering parents through skills, knowledge and super easy actionable tricks and tips!

THE PARENTING PROGRAMMES FOLLOW 3 CORE PRINCIPLES
HOW WE DEVELOP
WHY THAT MATTERS
WHAT WE CAN DO TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT
HOW
How do we develop? Lets look at the body, brain and sensory systems
WHY
Why does it matter? Lets look at the impact on development – when things are going well (regulated) and when things are tricky.
WHAT
What can we do? Lets look at the environment, resources and our interactions to help maximise development through sensory regulation
I have had the privilege to develop this 4 week sensory programme for parents in the perinatal period (pregnancy to 1 year post birth).
The programme provides a sensory toolkit (resources and workbook), and we meet over 4 weeks (via Zoom if necessary) to share knowledge ideas and experiences.
The aim is to increase parental knowledge and understanding about how their baby is developing through exploring the sensory systems to support regulation and development in all areas. Most importantly, we do this together, with other parents who have shared experiences.
Read the question below for details, then click the button if you want to find out more about how it can be tailored to meet needs of parents in your organisation
mmmm, I have questions ...
Which Parents?
If you your organisation, community group or charity works with and supports families and children then these workshops are for them!
Parents in need of confidence boost or upskilling?

What happens during parent workshops?
I come to your venue, at a TIME THAT SUITS YOU (including evenings or weekends)
I bring ALL OF THE LOVELY RESOURCES, we have a PLAY and share lots of new ideas about how you might use these at home
Parents can MAKE and TAKE RESOURCES using the materials
I provide a helpful WORKBOOKS parents can using during or after the session to take notes or make plans about their home environment, resources, things they can do to support sensory development
PEER SUPPORT is invaluable for sharing experiences with other parents over a cuppa!
Why book with an organisation and not as individual families?
Peer support is a massive part of parenting – the workshop is a perfect opportunity for parents with shared experiences such as supporting a premature infant, parental mental health illness, infancy, toddlers, children with additional needs, school aged children – to meet with other parents who ‘get it’.
A charity, organisation or community group is perfectly situated to bring together service users or families within their community with shared experiences and offer this additional support in the parenting journey.
What about Health & safety?
I work within recommended guidelines.
Together we will agree a risk assessment, if safe to do so, I will come to your setting.
If not – we will meet via Zoom and I will post a sensory kit and workbook to participants ahead of the session. Simple.
How much does it cost?
Prices based on 10 attendees
Sessions include;
- hands on experience with a range of sensory materials
- handouts/ workbooks with ACTIONABLE STEPS TO IMPLEMENT IN PRACTICE
- materials for make and take session
- CPD certificate of attendance
£250 for a 90 minute introductory session

What is the 4 week perinatal programme?
An organisation that works with families will host the programme.
It can be for any parent with any experiences (with older children, multiples, premature infants, children with additional needs)
The programme focusses on the perinatal period which is pregnancy up to approximately 1 year after birth.
In the programme we look at infant body, brain and the sensory systems and how we can support and develop these through sensory experiences in play, our daily routines, our environment, resources and interactions.
What happens in 4 week Perinatal Programme
The organisation hosting the programme will arrange a day and time that suits their families.
If its online – I will send parents a bumper pack of 4 Sensory Kits and workbook delivered right to their door. Otherwise I bring the sensory kits to each in person session
Parents will join me each week for 4 interactive sensory workshops (approximately 1 hour each) – where we will share info about how our little ones grow and develop.
Each week we will use the corresponding sensory kits as prompts for fun!
What are the benefits?
Any parent in your organisation
Due to capping the numbers at 8 and wanting attendees to have maximum benefits, it is useful for parents in the same workshop to have shared experiences, such as
- newborns
- having multiple children
- toddlers!
- school aged children
- children with additional needs
- parents experiencing mental health difficulties
- solo parents
- dads
- grandparents
- foster carers
Any group of families or parents that your organisation supports – this workshop is for them
Are there any risks?
The programme looks at the practical and well as emotional responses to risk, health and safety.
Safety is discussed at each session at length.
We discuss what baby can do developmentally and this helps us risk assess our resources and environment.
We consider developmental appropriate behaviour such as ‘mouthing’ and physical development.
We also explore our own play experiences and the impact that has on our parenting choice. As often our own reluctance or not feeling secure can make it feel less safe
The programme looks at the practical and well as emotional responses to risk, health and safety.
How much does it cost?
For online participation – £600 which includes upto 8 attendees.
The programme is highly interactive and it is important to cap numbers to enable participants to engage and get the maximum benefit
The programme includes
4 sessions currently via Zoom (approximately 1 hour each)
4 weeks of sensory resources (including postage)
Sensory workbook for notes, reflections and activity ‘recipes’
If for safeguarding reasons I cannot access addresses, I can arrange delivery to a central location with the organisation for distribution.
For in person participation – £800
Organisations provide a suitable venue and I bring all the resources and sensory kits for a unique experience each week

TESTIMONIALS
“I really enjoyed this workshop, and feel more confident in myself and my ability to have enjoyable home learning environment. I have gained a new understanding of how my children learn and what i can do to reinforce healthy brain `superhighways`..”
who knew?
Who knew babies were capable of so much?
In the parent sensory workshops we use developmental milestones as a starting point, a guide, to give us an idea of what to expect when.
Then we explore how the sensory systems function and affect development – particularly what is happening in the brain and the body.
From there we can explore all the possibilities and opportunities to enhance development through sensory experiences in our daily routines, our interactions and our environments.
This is where the magic happens!
It is so empowering for parents to witness those ah ha moments (and to have those moments themselves!) when little one surprises us with a reaction to new experiences or masters a new skill.
